Customized Horse Hair Fired Pottery

I create one-of-a-kind horse hair fired pottery at my studio in Lakefield. Locals and tourists delight in the beautiful pieces created using a technique that originated in Native American culture. Horse hair is applied to porous clay pieces when they reach 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit in the kiln, resulting in a unique piece of art with spectacular carbon markings.

I am expanding my practice, to include custom pieces!

For horse owners – this is a rare opportunity to remember a special horse through a beautiful piece of art. Bring me your horse’s hair and I will do the rest.

For stable owners – this is a chance to share a special product with your customers. Nothing like it exists in the Kawarthas.

$14 – $250, depending on its size and detail of craftmanship
